The original school library, the Gladish Community and Cultural Center view room has become
one of the most sought-after social and meeting spaces in Pullman. Situated on the third floor,
the View Room commands a view of the town and the university on the hill—hence its name.
Through a generous donation from Mid Rowland and her husband, Del,
long-time Pullman residents and enthusiastic supporters of the Center and the community, the view
room has been remodeled to create a pleasant environment for social gatherings and a functional space
for meetings.
- New carpeting, window treatments, and track and
overhead lighting have enhanced the natural ambiance of the room.
- Room rental includes use of the 3300 square foot
view room with password-protected wireless Internet access and the
attached 400 square foot catering kitchen with a large sink, stove, refrigerators, and
food preparation tables.
- Also are included in the room rental are tables
and chairs, a media screen, microphone and limited AV support.
- Additional items/services are available for rent
at reasonable rates, such as table linens (limited quantity), a portable dance floor, an
digital projector (with tech support), and sound system (with complete AV
support).
- The view room can be set up in a variety of
standard and custom configurations (all tables and chairs are included
in the room rental), such as the following:
- For a standard social sitdown event, 20
eight-person tables and accompanying padded chairs can be set up to
seat 160 people. Five additional tables and accompanying chairs to
seat 40 more people can be added for a total maximum capacity of 200,
if close seating is not an issue. If the portable dance floor is used,
tables and chairs can be set up on the dance floor and removed later
for dancing.
- For a seminar style meeting, 30 rectangular
tables and accompanying chairs can be set up to seat 120. Breakout
classrooms can be arranged (not included in basic room rental rate).
- Auditorium style seating can be set
up with up to 220 chairs and room for a few rectangular
tables.
- The second floor bridge entrance with automatic door openers provides easy access to the building from the upper parking lot for both caterers and guests alike. The elevator, located near the bridge entrance on the second floor, and a wheelchair-accessible bathroom are close to the view room on the third floor.
